SERVICE SUNDAY 9/30: MIRROR MESSAGE EXTRAVAGANZA

Did you know: By age 13, about 53% of American girls are unhappy with their bodies. By 17, it’s 78%. And it’s not just girls either – new research shows that close to 1 in 4 boys experience body dysmorphia. To help strike back at negative body messaging, please bring your creativity and imagination and join us for a Mirror Messages Extravaganza! We will gather together after Fellowship and create a mountain of Mirror Messages to be distributed across the Douglas County school system as part of the district’s Suicide Prevention program. What are Mirror Messages? Colorful, decorative sticky-notes saying esteem-boosting things like “You’re Amazing” and “Stay Unique.” Learn more about Service Sunday at  https://prairieuu.org/upcoming-worship-services/service-sundays/ Learn more about this activity at: https://www.dosomething.org/us/campaigns/mirror-messages/action
