One Sunday each month after a shortened service, Prairie lives out its principles and vision to work for justice in our community. As Kim has explained in an earlier special announcement, Bridge House (also known as “Ready to Work”) is a transitional housing facility for the homeless. They are preparing for an open house/block party event on Saturday 7/27, to which we are all invited. They have a number of jobs they would like us to complete to prepare for the Block Party. Melissa Bishop will lead us in a shortened service exploring how creativity can inform our justice work. Afterward, we will meet at Bridge House, 3176 S Peoria Ct, Aurora. to complete a variety of tasks. All Prairie members, families, and friends are encouraged to participate! Please contact Melissa or Nancy Long with any questions.
Successful Service Sunday!
Thank you so much to everyone who came and made last week’s Service Sunday at Bridge House a success! They were so appreciative of our work in the garden, cleaning the grill and getting some things done in the office. Attach the 4 pictures Please read below for our special invitation to their Carnival Style Block Party next Saturday, 7/27.
