Updates from the CoSM – September 2020

September 21, 2020

We have been working hard on making recommendations on the draft for the Nominating Committee policy/procedures and have sent our suggestions to the Board.

We are currently working on the Listening Circle presentation for the October 11th PrairieUU Town Hall.

The CoSM and others will be looking for feedback for a possible change in the starting time for our Sunday services. It has been suggested that a start time of 10:30 am instead of 10:00 am would allow the LifeSpan program to be much more coordinated for our children. We will be available for feedback after service and at the COSM meeting on Monday, September 14.

Please read AJ’s letter in this newsletter to get more information and find out where to give your input.

So what does the CoSM actually do? Our work includes 4 general areas in service to Prairie UU: shared resources; shared responsibility; working together and larger network communication. We are happy to receive your input and feedback in any of these areas.

The CoSM prepared for and attended the Widening the Circle meeting on Tuesday evening September 1st. We shared our listening circle process and obtained feedback from other sources present. The Board, COSM and the Justice League discussed the recommendation on Reconciliation and Restorative processes, part of the UUA document on inclusion.

Thanks for all your time and talent!!
