UURJ Gathering

June 6th Service is at 10:00 AM

Reaching Deeper: Building Relationships at the Speed of Trust

Join the sponsoring congregations of Colorado UUs for Racial Justice (UURJ) and the Mountain Top for this heartfelt, multi-community service of commitment and celebration! We will acknowledge the white supremacy culture that has kept us from living fully into our spiritual wholeness, both in our congregations and in our wider communities. We will center youth voices as we lift up the potential of Unitarian Universalism to be a powerful, liberative, anti-oppressive force. And musical collaborations will celebrate the new, crucial relationships, culture, and commitment we are building among individuals and congregations in UURJ and TMT in order to do the difficult, necessary, and joyful work of dismantling white supremacy culture among us!

This service will be the culmination of our UURJ summer series kickoff weekend, Reaching Deeper: Building Relationships at the Speed of Trust. Though you are highly encouraged to attend the whole weekend, all are welcome to this service.

Summer Educational Series

Join us as we kick off our UURJ summer educational series with a weekend of community building among the Colorado Front Range UU communities, congregations, and the Mountain Top!

This weekend-long event is the beginning of our summer-long educational series, meant to create a robust, collaborative, and non-hierarchical coalition dedicated to dismantling white supremacy in our congregations and the wider community.

The relationships we build here and the work we do will inform the direction of UURJ in the coming church year. But more importantly, this series will create a culture among us that centers and is accountable to BIPOC, youth, and other historically marginalized people in our denomination and our congregations.

It will be aimed primarily at the the Mountain Top and the 10 sponsoring communities of UURJ, but all are welcome.

Schedule (all times are MDT):
Friday
6pm-9pm: Welcome and community-building
Saturday 10am-12pm; 1pm-4pm: Workshops and panel discussion
Saturday 6pm-9pm: Vespers and optional social time
Sunday 10am: Inter-congregational worship
Sunday 12pm-1:30pm: Taking it home
