Prairie UU’s Annual Auction
It’s that time again — our Annual Auction Committee is beginning to prepare for this year’s big event! If you’d like to help coordinate Prairie’s Silent Auction and Live Auction (our biggest social extravaganza!), please contact Jan S.
The success of the Auction depends on help from people like you!
Please save the date for Prairie UU’s biggest fundraising effort of the year — a night of fun at our annual Auction — December 8, 2024!
For all Auction details, including the donation form, please visit our Auction page.

Help Requested

Please please come Sunday, November 17th, after service or after your lunch (until about 3PM) to the Spirit of Life Property to help sort through and do some organizing of our upstairs items that came from storage. Things have been categorized already in separate rooms, but we need those that help with children, education, and hospitality so we can plan for our future in this wonderful space!
Please let Brenda know if you are able to help. Thank you!

Justice League
We hope you’ll join us for our next Justice League meeting this coming Sunday, November 24th, 12:00PM to 1:30PM at the Parker Library after service.
We are focusing on organizing, networking with other UUs and interfaith groups near Denver for action related events, finding some community speakers to fill our lay-led services, and helping with voting rights efforts.
Reach out to Kathy H. with questions, or visit the Justice League’s page.
And, more from our Justice League…

Bridge House – Ready to Work

A community outreach opportunity presented by Prairie UU’s Justice League…
Ready to Work: Aurora 3176 S Peoria Ct., Aurora, CO 80014
Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 3:30PM
A group is requested to help Ready to Work: Aurora celebrate December birthdays. Of the approximately 40-50 residents, 5 or so have birthdays each month. We would like volunteers to provide 50+ cupcakes or some larger cakes for the December 19th birthday celebration.
Handmade cards from children in our church community are requested for both the November 21st and December 19th birthday celebrations (card making took place at our November 10th service, but more cards are appreciated!). In addition to birthday cards, letters of encouragement for residents are welcome. Cards and letters should be signed with first names, and shouldn’t include personal contact information.
Please contact Kathy H. with questions, to volunteer to provide cupcakes, or to RSVP to the December 19th birthday celebration.
Thank you!

A generous offer from Joanna Shukert, of our Prairie Community…

If any of you are considering buying or selling a home, or know someone who is, I’m offering to donate half my net commission from any transaction originating from a Prairie member. The funds will be donated directly to Prairie in your name. As you know, home prices have doubled in recent years (along with real estate commissions), so I’m happy to make this offer on an ongoing basis. I’ve worked as a Denver realtor for 15 years and have been in the top 5-10% of HomeSmart agents over the past 3 years. I’d be honored to assist with any buy or sell transaction in the metro area. I also offer free advice or guidance on anything real estate related, so please reach out anytime if I can help.
Please email Joanna to learn more!
