CALL FOR A NON-SINGERS GROUP: For our Festivus for the Rest of Us–A Christmas Eve EVE service. Do you enjoy to trying your hand at theater or funny skits? Not musical, necessarily, but you want to participate in this fun service? Maybe you’re a pro at playing the Kazoo?!? Our Music Director, Jen Winters, is putting together a funny skit for this service. She is looking for several people to play parts to make the masses laugh and smile. Please see her after the service or contact her at JenW@PrairieUU.org.

For it is only through times of darkness, that the light can return. Please bring an hors d’oeuvres to share. We will be drumming around a ritual fire to mark the beginning of this transitional time of year. Let us purify ourselves and reflect on the year we have just had, and set intentions for our new year. We are sending out personalized invitations! If you or a friend or family member would like to receive an invite, please email the address to: Jen Winters, Music Director, at Prairie UU — JenW@PrairieUU.org.

Sermon Inspiration/Instruction

Interested in giving a sermon one day? Leslie W. believes everyone has a least one sermon in them! She and Reverend Chip can help you as you prepare your sermon and hopefully deliver it. This endeavor will require a few one-hour classes with a small group. Joining the classes doesn’t mean you are required to give a sermon — just work on one.
If interested, please email Leslie. Once participants are identified, a time and location that is convenient for all will be determined.

Since the first of the year, Jenny S. has revived Prairie’s connection to volunteering at Bridge House Ready to Work. Once a month, she takes 5 dozen cupcakes to the birthday party for residents who are celebrating that month. Sometimes Shirley, Jenny R. and granddaughter, Molly, have helped but more volunteers are needed, especially since Molly returns to college this week.
The cupcakes need to be delivered to Bridge House on the third Thursday of each month before the afternoon party.
Please contact Jenny S. to volunteer dozen or more cupcakes. Thank you!

A generous offer from Joanna Shukert, of our Prairie Community…
If any of you are considering buying or selling a home, or know someone who is, I’m offering to donate half my net commission from any transaction originating from a Prairie member. The funds will be donated directly to Prairie in your name. As you know, home prices have doubled in recent years (along with real estate commissions), so I’m happy to make this offer on an ongoing basis. I’ve worked as a Denver realtor for 15 years and have been in the top 5-10% of HomeSmart agents over the past 3 years. I’d be honored to assist with any buy or sell transaction in the metro area. I also offer free advice or guidance on anything real estate related, so please reach out anytime if I can help.
Please email Joanna to learn more!
