Bridge House Ready to Work

Volunteers Needed

Since the first of the year, Jenny S. has revived Prairie’s connection to volunteering at Bridge House Ready to Work. Once a month, she takes 5 dozen cupcakes to the birthday party for residents who are celebrating that month. Sometimes Shirley, Jenny R. and granddaughter, Molly, have helped but more volunteers are needed, especially since Molly returns to college this week.
The cupcakes need to be delivered to Bridge House on the third Thursday of each month before the afternoon party.
Please contact Jenny S. to volunteer dozen or more cupcakes. Thank you!

From Marlo A., Community Engagement and Philanthropy Manager with Bridge House’s Ready to Work Aurora House:
I’m reaching out to invite you to help make one of our favorite community moments possible, a Super Bowl Party for our program participants. Events like this offer more than just fun: they create a sense of belonging, connection, and normalcy for individuals who are working hard to rebuild their lives.
Why this is an meaningful way to give back:
Our Aurora and Englewood houses serve between 50 – 100 adults. They are employed by our social enterprises, while living in our house, and receiving supportive services. These program participants are moving towards stability and long-term housing. A shared event like this provides an opportunity to relax, build community, and feel supported.
We are seeking support with snacks and party items, including:
  • Chips
  • Cookies
  • Cake/cupcakes
  • Soda
  • Popcorn
  • Decorations
Day of party donations… If you are donating any of the following items, please drop them off on the day of our party, 02/08/2026, before 4:00pm:
  • Pizza
  • Chicken wings
Any contribution, large or small, will make a meaningful difference and help ensure our participants can enjoy a festive experience.
Drop-off details:
Please drop your donated items off at 3176 S. Peoria Ct, Aurora, CO.

A generous offer from Joanna Shukert, of our Prairie Community…
If any of you are considering buying or selling a home, or know someone who is, I’m offering to donate half my net commission from any transaction originating from a Prairie member. The funds will be donated directly to Prairie in your name. As you know, home prices have doubled in recent years (along with real estate commissions), so I’m happy to make this offer on an ongoing basis. I’ve worked as a Denver realtor for 15 years and have been in the top 5-10% of HomeSmart agents over the past 3 years. I’d be honored to assist with any buy or sell transaction in the metro area. I also offer free advice or guidance on anything real estate related, so please reach out anytime if I can help.
Please email Joanna to learn more!
