This August, ‘Dip your Toes’ and sign up for a service task or committee…

Try something you haven’t done before!
Do you have secret skills as a teacher? Party organizer? Web-master? Are you good with numbers? Does your heart lift at the mention of singing?Perhaps you’re curious about writing and delivering a sermon? (we have a class that will teach you how! ) We even have tasks for families to do together. Arrive a little early and change the event rooms into a sanctuary, or If you’re better at destruction, be a member of the Takedown team.
Visit the Greeter Table at Sunday Services this month and ‘dip your toes’
into a new role within the Prairie UU Community!

Social Justice Film Series

First Universalist Church, 4101 E Hampden, Denver
Date: Friday, September 5, 2025
Time:  6:30 pm and please bring snacks to share if possible
Film Title: “Crip Camp”
It is September and the Social Justice film series is BACK!!  Our first film is “Crip Camp”.  Today it would be unthinkable to nickname a summer getaway for children with disabilities “Crip Camp.” Yet that was the nickname given to Camp Jened, a summer camp for children, teens and adults with disabilities that operated in the Catskill Mountains of New York from 1951 to 1977. The camp is the subject of a 2020 documentary on the origins of the disability rights movement.

A generous offer from Joanna Shukert, of our Prairie Community…
If any of you are considering buying or selling a home, or know someone who is, I’m offering to donate half my net commission from any transaction originating from a Prairie member. The funds will be donated directly to Prairie in your name. As you know, home prices have doubled in recent years (along with real estate commissions), so I’m happy to make this offer on an ongoing basis. I’ve worked as a Denver realtor for 15 years and have been in the top 5-10% of HomeSmart agents over the past 3 years. I’d be honored to assist with any buy or sell transaction in the metro area. I also offer free advice or guidance on anything real estate related, so please reach out anytime if I can help.
Please email Joanna to learn more!
