We are proud of our Justice League!

This past year, Prairie UU’s Justice League has focused on new immigrants, refugees of war, affordable housing and homelessness causes, and Democracy education.

Below is a list of actions accomplished so far this year, led by the Justice League, with Prairie UU community participation.

  • Homeless immigrant camping gear and clothing drive and money gifts, coordinated by Columbine UU.
  • Ongoing monthly Ukrainian families financial support.
  • Project Worthmore Immigrant Essentials gift bags.
  • Habitat for Humanity work days, benefit breakfast, and donations for their events.
  • Speakers for after service Democracy education: League of Women Voters.
  •  Voter registration drives (several individuals obtaining online trainings and attending registration events).
  • Postcard writing for GOTV in GA.
  • Donation basket for Palestinian Refugee Children’s Fund.
  • Additionally, our Justice League is now re-establishing a connection with Aurora Ready to Work House (a homeless shelter and work training program run by Bridge House of Boulder, formerly known as Aurora Warms the Night).

Thank you to our mighty Justice League and its chair, Kathy Hallahan. We are very proud of what our small congregation has accomplished this year in the way of social justice and community outreach!
